Executive Chef | Masanobu Akami
Chef Akami joined the Imperial Hotel in 1976, inspired by Nobuo Murakami, one of the people who made French cuisine popular in Japan. Chef Akami spent 27 years there working as a chef at the coffee house “Eureka” and as a sous chef at the French restaurant “Les Saisons” and in the banquet department. In 2003, he moved to Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers and worked as executive chef. He was also in charge of cooking at the 150th-anniversary event of the opening of Yokohama Port and APEC JAPAN 2010.
Executive Sommelier | Makoto Abe
After working as the manager of the main dining room and chef-sommelier at Hotel Seiyo Ginza, he won the 3rd All-Japan Best Sommelier Competition in 2002, held every three years. He became the All-Japan Best Sommelier of the same year and represented Japan at the 11th World Sommelier Competition held in Greece in 2004. He was responsible for beverage service and entertainment at the G20 Osaka Summit in June 2019, where heads of state and prime ministers of major countries were invited to attend the summit dinner. In November 2020, he was awarded “Contemporary Master Craftsman” by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare as an outstanding skilled worker.
