Disaster Prevention Measures

To ensure the safety of our guests, the hotel has established a thorough fire and disaster management system and is taking every precaution. In the unlikely event of a fire or disaster, a warning will be sent to the disaster prevention center immediately, and our hotel’s self-defense fire brigade will work with professional security guards on standby to extinguish the fire and guide guests to safety 24 hours a day.

  1. Disaster prevention security
    1. Our hotel is a fire- and earthquake-resistant building that complies with building safety standards (Building Standards Act, Fire Service Act, and Earthquake-Resistant Renovation Promotion Act) by using non-flammable materials and establishing fire and flame-resistant compartments to prevent the spread of fire.
    2. 24-hour central computerized monitoring system
  2. Security guards are stationed at the disaster prevention center, and a computerized disaster monitoring system is in place for the entire building.
    1. Hotel self-defense fire brigade
We have organized a 24-hour self-defense fire brigade to safely and quickly guide guests in the event of an emergency.
    2. Other disaster prevention features
The hotel is equipped with equipment exceeding the standards of the Building Standards Act and the Fire Service Act, including sprinklers, smoke detectors, auxiliary water faucets and outlets, fire extinguishers, fire doors, fire shutters, smoke exhaust devices, and emergency lights, throughout the hotel.
    3. Earthquake resistance and seismic isolation of the building: The hotel obtained a confirmation certificate under the provisions of Article 6-2, Paragraph 1 of the Building Standards Act on November 18, 2019. Although there is no certificate indicating the earthquake resistance grade, the building conforms to the new earthquake resistance standards.
    4. Tsunami countermeasures: It is said that the maximum height of the tsunami in Atami is 18 meters, and in that case, the 4th floor and below may be flooded. For rooms and facilities on the 5th floor and below, the restaurant on the 6th floor is designated as an evacuation site. It is said that the tsunami will reach the hotel in about 3 minutes, so we conduct training to guide evacuation before that time.
  3. Security
    1. Patrols by security staff
Professional staff from the hotel and security company patrol the hotel regularly.
    2. Surveillance system using monitor TVs
Monitor TVs are installed at all entrances and key locations throughout the building.
    3. The hotel entrance doors from the parking lots on the 4th to 6th floors are automatically locked (midnight to 6:30 in the morning).
  4. Emergency system
    1. Provision of disaster information
    2. In the event of a fire or earthquake, we will respond as follows.
    3. Emergency broadcasts will be made throughout the building to quickly announce the latest disaster information and evacuation sites. Guidance will be given to evacuation sites from each guest room floor and facility.
    4. In the event of an emergency, please contact the reception at number 9.
